Tory is a outstanding black female who is currently in training for AKC/UKC hunt Tests. Tory is the kind of dog that every trainer wants to have: talented, a pin point marking dog, trainable, handles pressure, and is consistant - day in and day out.

At a hunt test, Tory is uncomparable. She marks. And marks. And can run blinds. And is one of the most steady dogs you will ever find. Yea.

But she isn't just a hunt test dog who looks good at the tests, she also has a nose for birds. Tory is one of our favorite dogs to hunt with, whether in the upland pastures, duck marshes, or the goose fields. The reason for it is simple: She knows where the birds are, and for upland, how to get them up. You can aways count on her to find them, you don't have to cover a field twice. But, although she excels most while retrieving in the field, she is still a excellent house dog and one of the kid's favorite dogs to just "play" with. Tory weighs a solid 70 lb. and carries a lot of muscle.

As a producer, she has been bred twice. Once to HRCH "Morgan" MH at Blindfaith Retrievers in IL. Those pups really turned out nice, will be 3 yrs in April(2011). Two of them are HR titled, with several carrying additional Finished(HRCH) and Master Hunter(MH) passes. These were the only two pups in Competition homes, but other pups are doing just as well as hunting retrievers and owners are extremely happy with them.

The other breeding was to GRHRCH UH "Cody" MH, from Blue Sky Retrievers in MI, whelped Dec 21, 2008. Those pups are just under a year, and we have had outstanding results from the breeding. Two of the pups ran Started 2009 fall and each went 2-2. One of them also earned 3 JH passes in addition to retrieving around 100 birds in just a couple days of hunting in Canada. Ice, a black male we started and trained, is now working as a guide dog at St Lawrence Outfitters as well. In his first three months of hunting, he picked up nearly 500 birds while being perfectly steady on each bird, and only 10 months old. In his 2nd year of working(2010/2011 season), picked up between 2-3000 birds.
